Western Digital
has branded
this 2TB drive
as being for
Xbox One or PC gaming
storage, and it’s a fairly
bare bones solution. The
Xbox One can use any USB
3.0 drive that’s 256GB or
above, so we suspect the
branding is simply there to
catch Xbox owner’s eyes. All
you get in the box is the drive
and a short USB 3.0 cable;
there’s no software. The
drive itself has a vague Xbox
One theme, but otherwise it’s
unremarkable hard plastic.
It’d be useful if the drive
activity light was on the
front, and bigger than a
pinhole, but performance
wise this is a quicker-thanaverage-
unit. Small packets
of data are rapidly flicked
back and forth – and that’s
key for gaming on console
